Software is never finished. EVER. However they could have released a much more stable iOS now and fixed fringe issues later. Stability is paramount above all else. Other features DONT MEAN ANYTHING WITHOUT STABILITY.

This is something that should have been fixed months ago. Instead we got 7.0.x for facetime calls and for 7.0.5 for China. Yet crash crash crash for 6 months.

Right, so lets complain that they haven't finished the beta cycle yet, and insist they release something now because OMG.

Then in 30 days you can come back and complain about LACK OF STABILITY!!1!

You're right, software is never finished. And neither will be the sense of entitlement over software upgrades.

If your not happy do what I did. Return it.

I returned my iPad Air. Web browsers would refresh and crash WAY to often. I got fed up and returned it. They wanted to replace it and I demonstrated the problem on 2 separate floor models and would have done more if there wasn't customers using them. They refunded my money.

Isn't that what you are supposed to do? If you aren't happy with a products performance or its too buggy or whatever you actually DO something about it? Complaining on the internet won't fix much.

I'll consider buying a new one when 7.1 is out.

Only reason most think they're entitled to an upgrade is because of the iOS 7 issues. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the software HAS been ready and its just waiting for iOS in the car and the government mandated app store changes.

If 6 months was not enough time to get the springboard to quit crashing then they need to re-evaluate this "new " direction they are going if they cant make it stable. Its just amazingly insane how long its taken for this to even be addressed.

What about if you are unhappy with a device that you had that was just fine before iOS 7 and now isn't?

Uh. You realize that was that poster's point, right? To focus on getting out a stable version, THEN worry about adding features?

Then I kick and scream and complain on the internet of course!

To be honest I'm not entirely happy with iOS 7 on my iPad 3. However the browser is stable enough to be useful.

Regardless, to answer your question I might still try to return it. At the very least call Apple. Knowing them they'd probably help me out in one way or another.

So we all know that iOS 7.1 is coming but when it does finally come don't you think a lot of customers will still be asking why did it take so long to fix all the issues or will the update be so great that people will just forget that it took so long for a fix and soon forget all the trouble they had prior to 7.1

So I know after this long wait you guys don't want to set any expectations...but how many of you think it will arrive next week?

I think people always want to discuss issues that they don't really know resolutions to or don't have much control over. Some will go more "overboard" than others, but it can still be a useful discussion on some level for some people even if ultimately not much can be done about it. In a lot of cases that's part of the existence of gathering places for people that share similar interests, and especially online ones like this.

Nope, they rather keep hitting the software update button on the device instead! Geez!

How I hope I can do that in Singapore.... In here, we can just complain.

That we're all impatiently waiting for 7.1. Why? B/c 7.0 was not ready for prime time. We're experiencing things that I thought should only happen on Android.

I've now learned my lesson and when ios 8 comes out I'll wait at least two months before upgrading...

Why only two months? Here we are 6 months after launch and iOS 7.0.6 still feels like BETA software.
I'll never be upgrading the o/s on another phone as long as I live after this debacle. My phone will stay with whatever o/s it ships with.

Hehe :)
The iPhone 4 I gave to my dad has slowed to a crawl with iOS7, basically ruining it. My then two month old iPhone 5 experienced dreadful battery life (down at least a third on iOS6) and Safari crashes etc as soon as I upgraded to iOS7 so yeah, lesson learned. I never thought in a million years that six months later NOTHING would have changed. Dreadful customer treatment by Apple. My iPhone 4 ownership was fantastic, I loved my time with that phone, but iOS7 has ruined my experience with the iPhone 5.

Uh.

So what if your phone came shipped with 7.0.6?

Holy hell... 7.1 needs to drop already. I understand that they don't want to release it until it's as finished as they can get it, but this sucks waiting. And my biggest fear? Is that 7.1 won't fix my biggest issue with 7.0, which is my iPad Air crashing Safari and tab reloading beyond 2 tabs being open. My fear is that it's the hardware being the issue, not a software problem.

If the betas are anything to go by, Safari doesn't do that any more.

I am glad Apple is still working on 7.1. Beta 5 is not as good as some of you might think. There is occasional stutter and hangs. There is no crashing (or almost nothing), but still this is not the quality we all expect from Apple. I hope that when 7.1 comes out it will solve all issues, but I doubt it. It will be definitely though a big step in the right direction.
iOS 7 will be remembered as the worst OS Apple has made, because of its stability issues. The design is not the problem.
