iOS 7 activation, broken sleep button

iOS 7 deactivated my iPhone. I can't restore my iPhone because my sleep button is broken. All the help articles show that you need the iPhone to show up in iTunes, and it doesn't. Do I need to wait on the iPhone's battery to die, and will holding the home button when it's powering up allow me to restore? What can I do?

TinyUmbrella lets you enter DFU mode. Download ikt and plug your phone in then click Enter DFU mode.
