I've thought that for a while, and since the slight re-branding of Mac OS to simply "OS X", I've thought it even more.

Apple is not going to want to abandon the brand name that is OS X. The problem being that they are running out of cats and update integers.

Cats is not an issue, they can come up with something new. The problem becomes what happens after 10.9.

Do they dare break the rules and call it 10.10, 10.11, etc.

Or do they simply go OS XI, and start with 11.0, 11.1, etc.

Tiger went to 10.4.11, so the precedent is already set within Apple and countless other softwares. In fact it wouldn't break the rules, it would follow the rules.

wow, this is a shock, was reading and checking out all the leaks for a month now. looks like apple got away with it this time.

funny how much attention one remark can get. this is all to send the press to some asswipe

I think that going into this most people here, myself included, should expect to be disappointed. It's only been a year since iOS 6. There has been a major switch in leadership, Ive has taken on a major new role in addition to his already massive responsibility has hardware design lead, and rumor has it that they added new members to the iOS team (borrowed from OS X late in the development cycle.) All of those things will in most cases slow progress.

If you are expecting BB OS 10 type radical ideas at this point, then I think it's going to be a sad day tomorrow. I think that what we need to see tomorrow isn't huge changes like most of us want to see, but rather carefully planned steps headed in the right direction, and an expansion in iOS's abilities to further replace traditional computers for more than just casual uses, and also a sign that the Apple TV is becoming more than a hobby.

The iOS rumors so far seam much more like wish lists than anything else.

Not a huge fan of Gruber but he does have lots of inside contacts who might intentionally leak through him to prepare people so that its not total shock they are about to be shocked... Kind of when the nurse is about to give a shot & says this may hurt a bit.

It's going to suck and we won't be surprised at all by it.

If all the leaks are wrong, and all the leaks are what we want, then logically what is being unveiled is not what we want, and therefore what really is being unveiled is going to depress us!

I am so sick and tired of stupid people posting stupid comments in this forum!! Erg!! So frustrating!

Yes I realize I am bring hypocritical right now

Does anyone actually use the search function on their iPhone? The only time I'm on that damn screen is by accident.

Really looking forward to tomorrow! I felt last year that iOS 6 should have been called iOS 5.5 because all the features seemed like tweaks, where as iOS 7 sounds like it will be a big update.

Then again, it's all speculation and whispers until tomorrow, 6pm UK time.

havn't posted here in a while. didn't take the time to read the whole thread. apple's been on the path of making the OS's simpler and the iOS's more full-featured for a while now. My prediction is that they will continue on this path, and the next generation of computers and i-devices will have more in common than ever, at least in look and feel. despite the efficiency of intel's latest CPUs, i still don't think ipads will run the programs we run on computers very well, and simultaneously. it just requires too much heat and energy. eventually the only difference between the two will be that the devices are still stuck doing one thing at a time while the OS will have floating windows. none of this would make me happy, but it would hardly be surprising.

I'm sorry to go off topic, but I really must thank you for not putting an apostrophe in every plural word in your post. You made my day!
(Yea I know-didn't take much...)

I think that they should do Instagram intergration!

Same here. I RARELY use it, and when I do, it doesn't work since the mail I needed is on the server somewhere. I wish we had the option to turn it off, or switch to a WIDGET SCREEN! That would be awesome.
