DND icon

So i noticed that the DND icon became more dark grey than black (or white dpending on the status bar) in beta 2 (i think), but i noticed this morning that it's not entirely the case. The DND icon color is similar to the bluetooth icon in that it indicates whether DND is on AND if it is ACTIVE.

Here are some screenshots

Here you can see the greyed out DND icon indicating it is on but NOT active. This is due to the setting at the bottom of the screen (Only while iPhone is Locked)

But if i change the setting to "Always" you can see that the DND icon is now completely black indicating it IS Active

Don't know if this has been pointed out but here it is anyway.

Anyone else notice that the battery charging symbol doesn't pulse any more?

yeah i charged last night and the "big" battery didn't pop-up either, it just stated on home screen and small battery in top bar changed color that was all.

I agree with this tiny change. Pulsing/flashing, etc. works well when you've got an existing element that needs to signify change, but when you're adding an element completely (like the lightning bolt) there is no reason for it to pulse.

The big battery icon only pops up during the first initial plug in.

Changes to Messges

Two changes in the messages app
1. when opening messages, it does not automatcially go to a new text message like it did before, rather you see the list of all your messages to contacts.

2. when typing a recipient name, if that recipient is in any groups messages, the group will pop up as an option.

A long tap on images in safari now also displays the Alt-Text of images. (Beta 3 on iPhone 5

Really? I think it's pretty obvious. And once the non techies discover how to slide to unlock, they won't forget. It's a 1 second lesson

What if apple put an arrow on the english version for the first couple of time you unlock after you upgrade/get a new phone and then it goes away?

I'm not sure if this has been in all of the betas and it just hasn't shown itself to me, but this just showed up in my Notification Center Today view. It now tells me how long it would take to drive home from my current location.

It's been there since the beginning, but takes a while to show up (draws data from your travel and frequent locations).

Started showing up for me a few days into beta 2. Some people saw it after a week with beta 1. Seems to be highly variable. But the possibility of the feature has been there since beta 1 was released.

The calendars and reminders seem a lot more deeply integrated than I initially thought... In an email a friend just mentioned "next Friday" and that gets hyperlinked too... Clicking on which gives the create reminder options... I mean I knew it triggers this when dates are mentioned... I didn't know even simple words like this trigger it... Really interesting...

So i noticed

<snip>

That is a very nifty solution IMO... There were some people complaining during beta 1 how they didn't realise DND was on only when the phone is locked... Smart move...

Is anyone else having problems with the music controls always being displayed on the lock screen while playing music?

It happened to me a few times today, that I got a push notification that turned on my screen and suddenly my music was paused or the song was skipped. That's pretty annoying and I hope they either bring back the double tap on the home button to view the controls or just get rid of them because you can use the control center for that even on the lock screen.

Previously, it only said Unlock, which was confusing because it isn't a visual slider anymore.

Beta 2 vs beta 3 (in Dutch: unlock vs. slide to unlock)
<snip>

In the German version it is like this, too. Beta 1 said "Entsperren" (Unlock), Beta 2 said "Entsperren >>", Beta 3 now says "Zum Entsperren streichen" (Slide to unlock) which in my opinion is way too long, looks stupid and would be better if they wrote "Streichen zum Entsperren" wich sounds more like the spoken German language.

Oh and Siri thinks my name is Andreas even though it is Daniel.

It's been that way since beta 2. I don't like it, either. I'd prefer it to show the clock, and then require action to bring up the controls. As it is now, you can press the home button once to show the clock, but as soon as you lock and then unlock the screen, it's back to music controls.

I just saw a new feature in iTunes Radio and can't get it to come back up now. When a song is playing click the lower-case "i" in middle on top of the now playing screen. A slider came up on bottom where i could adjust/tune the station to play more 'Hits', 'Variety', or one more that I can't remember. Pretty cool

Edit: ok, it's just there when the first song is playing right after you click the station

In iOS 6 when you put lyrics on songs it maintained the format of the text that you input, leaving breaks, etc. for ease of following along

iOS 7 completely ignores that. It's a giant block of text and very difficult to follow.

Not sure if this has been noted (or if it's even new), but if you push the home button on the lock screen when now playing info is showing it switches the display between the controls and the default clock.
