iOS7 Folder Question

Using iOS7 on an iPad4 & when I open a folder to remove an app the folder automatically closes as opposed to iOS6 it remained open.

Any way around this, maybe I'm missing something here?

Can I once again remind people that this is a thread for highlighting lesser known features and cool stuff in iOS7, NOT a thread for bugs and questions. There are separate threads for that.

A new feature in iOS7 is also a battery killer -

My girlfriend updated her iPad mini to iOS7... and I overlooked something I always do on my iPhone -

Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services...

Enable Status Bar Icon - and you'll see the GPS symbol appear, and stay there permanently - this is "Wif-Fi Networking" constantly running.

It seems utterly useless... something about using GPS to locate Wi-Fi hotspots... personally I don't need that rubbish, and neither does she

I think you are misdiagnosing the problem here.

Not at all.

If you're going to post inane comments - why not at least write something useful to back it up

I have Wifi Networking on with no significant battery issues. It does not "constantly" access location services.

I'm pretty sure "Wifi Networking" simply assists location services in finding your location faster than GPS alone. It's always been present in iOS. iOS 7 simply adds a toggle to disable it.

Frequent Locations and Traffic constantly use location services on my device. I had to turn them off. There's something weird about some of the location services in iOS 7.

Turn on system location icon (at the bottom) and you'll see it constantly on.

By default you don't see the gps symbol for system location tasks

And that icon applies to all the location system services, not just wifi networking. The reason that the icon is off by default is that these system services are accessing location services frequently. Doesn't mean they are killing battery. In fact, using wifi networking to resolve your location saves battery.

bugs

imessage is big headache for most people i think so when will it get fixes also have ios7 leggy step some where more then ios6

Torch icon

Has anyone noticed that when you turn on the torch/led light from the control center – the little switch moved from the OFF to the ON position :D:cool:

It's a really minor but interesting attention to detail that I love.

Cool torch icon above - thanks for posting!

I also noticed yesterday that in iOS 7, when you are sending an iMessage to someone and then they reply, you get that bubble pop up, with 3 dots in it, to symbolize that the other person is currently typing and responding to your message - well in iOS7, the 3 dots are animated (in iOS 6 they were not and were just 3 static dots).

I love that too ! I hadn't noticed …good catch !

That's pretty cool, never noticed that.

is anybody having trouble with the copy and paste feature mine is stuck on something I copied weeks ago if I copy and don't paste immediately it will resort back to that copy I did weeks ago

Just discovered some handy Tunes Radio options...when playing a song in station you've created, touch the "i" at the top and you don't get info about the song (as I thought you would) but rather some cool options!

I wish they would add song lyrics into this app as well. Think that would be pretty cool myself.

I've noticed something new today…sorry if it has already been posted .

When you turn on Do Not Disturb , the half moon is lighter when you choose to "cut the sound when locked" than when you choose "always" .

Didn't know that nice find

yea it is very strange and i have did mutiple hard resets i am just waiting until releases the next update hopefully that fixes some of the bugs

only other thing i could think of, besides a full restore, would be to reset the settings and maybe that will wipe the clipboard and get rid of the bug.

Yep.

The way it works is that the moon will appear when Do Not Disturb is on. When it's inactive (on, but switched to Only when iPhone is locked), it will be a lightly shaded moon. When it's active (switched on, and set to Always), it will be a darkly shaded moon.

If do not disturb is on, the moon will always be darkly shaded when locked (since both settings have it active when phone is locked).

You are right , I hadn't noticed that detail #
