iPhone Charging

With ios 7 beta installed both 1 and 2 when charging iPhone 4s using standard apple usb connector and macbook pro the laptop screen must be open for charging to occur. With previous versions of ios however the laptop screen could be closed and the device would still charge. This is very frustrating and i hope they fix it soon.

It will only charge with the laptop closed if it is plugged in

You nailed it.

It's behavior Apple's had in iOS for a long time (from the beginning?) but it's being expanded to to include the "More" button

Yep. Exactly what Knosrac said. The new Mail app has the same gestures as the previous version. However, it has a Mailbox-ish look to it, with the cleaner lines and bigger buttons. Other than that, nothing.

Ah. Thanks for clearing that up. That's disappointing, as I was under the impression that Apple overhauled the Mail app this year. It definitely looks nicer, but the functionality is virtually unchanged. Looks like I'll be sticking with Mailbox.

it has always been like this. if you leave the laptop plugged in and closed your phone will charge. if it's not plugged in and closed it will not charge, and never has.

well, that's not 100% true.

there's anew feature that gives you more options on what to display on Mail's homepages. You can remove inboxes, select specific folders, and there are options to include mail.app specific folders like "all attachments" and "all sent"

that's helpful.

hopefully we'll get a redone mail.app with more features come iOS8, they certainly gave us a lot with 7.

Since updating to Beta 2 on my iPhone 5, I have been experiencing random crashes where the phone reboots about once every two days. I also have been having a problem with the phone becoming unresponsive and certain apps freezing. Sometimes the wallpaper on my homescreen will disappear and then reappear.

Just recently I've noticed that instead of using album art in the Artists view (Music app), it uses their profile picture from iTunes Gallery (or whatever the new photos thing in iTunes 11 is called).

Quite a nice change :)

New App Store features(it's gone now)

When you updated to Beta 2 OTA, did the gears in the settings icon spin like they do in iOS 6?

All of this, +1

I'd like to see a screenshot of the banner notifications in ios7. Is the cube like animation still there?

Also, what does it look like when you go to power your phone off?

It's a beta. That's going to happen a lot.

I'm really hoping the "1" in the calendar icon will be centered.

Every time I reboot the phone the notification settings for the mail reset... And it stops showing mail notifications on the lock screen and the notification centre... And I have to do it back again... If someone could oblige and report this... :p
