Or they could get rid of the signal dots and put the bars back.
That would be really nice.

----------

I just noticed that when you're on call, and receive a text message, instead of vibrating normal (which was really annoying), it not only vibrated for about a tenth of a second. I am not sure if this is a new feature in beta 4 or not. If not, how long has it been around?
Seems to be new in beta 4. It's been a long time coming.

Did anyone notice the "tab" has returned?

I mean in full-screen apps when you swipe down the Notification Center, it first shows you the little pull tab, and then allows you to swipe down.

I searched tab in this thread but didn't see it mentioned

Maybe because it is usually referred to as a grabber.

yes it does. works perfectly fine for me. are you sure you made sure its set to push properly?

Yes. It has been working before Beta 4 though.

Yeah, I don't get why everything on the status bar is larger on the lock screen and then shrinks when you unlock.

To make it easier to see at a glance, I suspect. I like it.

I prefer the dots, much easier to see the strength clearly. The bars, sometimes at a quick glance, can be a bit hard to see, and I say this as someone with no major vision problems, as a 32 year old....

Looking at some of those recent screenshots, I notice there is a subtle background to some of the buttons across the bottom of iTunes. Is this new?

Also, this would be a great way of highlighting the buttons at the top, even it was just a subtle light shade of grey/blue.

how fast does one have to glane to not see the signal bars at a glade???

i prefer dots either way. but not because i have such quick glances that i waasnt able to see the bars.

Yes. It has been working before Beta 4 though.

apparently beta 4 has some push notifcation bug for a few people. and i do mean a few because i havent heard much about it other than in these threads infrequently.

while i dont use icloud push, for me whatsapp push messages arent working. other push messages are without a problem. for other people its other apps that have push issues. started with beta 4 for me.

has anyone found a way to fix the signal dots bug where it shows full bars all the time? I want to actually know when my signal is low-strength and couldn't find a solution searching the thread

I switched to using field test mode instead of the dots.

But the FTM numerical signal strength only appears while FTM is active, then the UI reverts back to dots. There used to be a little trick a while back to get the FTM numerical to remain after closing FTM, but I don't remember it.

Do you know of a way to do this?

The events in the notification center are not working for me. I reset my settings and then it did work but woke up this morning and my event isnt there. Not sure if this is a bug or not. It was working for other people...dont know if it is a hit or miss thing

the trick is to hold the power button until it says "slide to power off" but don't power off your phone, and then hold the home button til FTM quits

unfortunately FTM hasn't fixed the issue. It just displays flat -100 all the time.

Will someone report this bug in the dev center -

When you try to delete someone's birthday from a contact, the first time you press the delete button nothing happens, the second time you press it the Contacts app crashes.

Mine works fine in FTM mode.

Considering the bars/dots don't really mean that much, specifically seeing if it's 4 bars or 5 bars or something like that isn't exactly useful anyway. Which is why the whole thing with the new dots kind of gives more space to something that is actually not that meaningful and more or less just completely moves away from an accepted industry standard of using bars for no real/good reason beyond just for the sake of change more or less.

Control Panel

When i swipe up to get to the control panel i dont have an airplay or airdrop button like i did in beta 1. Does anyone know why?? OR is this happening for anyone else.
