Never understood why these same people come back and ask us to help when they don't know what they're getting themselves into. If you have to ask all these questions (many answers are clearly obvious), then by all means, go ahead and see what happens. You'll only learn by doing it. Just don't come back here and plead for help when you were warned.

I'm always happy to help people and inform them of things they are unaware of regarding Apple. Don't see what the issue is. Ignore them if you don't want to help. :apple:

Or you can just pay ***** $8 instead of getting a dev account for $99.

Edit: Really? They censored that?

There's so much hate against people who opt to do this and I don't get it. I wouldn't know where to start in regard to creating an app but as part of the agreement, I get access to the betas as a developer. It's not a scam, and it's not playing the system. It's no different than people joining a gym because it's cheaper than a tanning salon and only taking advantage of the tanning beds and not using the gym. Perhaps an inane example but it's true.

And people are going to bitch about unstable releases developer or not. It's (paying for a dev account for early access) not a big deal. People need to get over it. :apple:

Because some people think that knowing how to write apps makes them special in some way and hate the fact that we "normies" have access to the same stuff they do. It just kills them that anyone and their moms can get a dev account and do whatever they want. I call them geek snobs.

I used every version of the iOS 6 beta on my iPhone 4, and rarely had any problems with it. Some 3rd party apps would give me trouble, but I actually found the stability and speed of the OS itself and the stock apps to be more reliable than iOS 5 was in its final version.

What I want to know is what happens if I install a beta and my one year expires before the official release? I don't write code, but a friend and I had thought about learning and both got dev accounts last July, with the iOS 6 beta as a bonus. I assume that when my year is up I'll be stuck with whatever beta I'm on until the GM releases.

I say go for it. You really have nothing to lose, as long as you have a backup in iTunes.

Report bugs when you find them, though.

The only issue with this is that backups taken with the later version of iOS won't work on previous versions after downgrading.

So essentially any new data between upgrading and wanting to downgrade again will most likely be lost as only the old backup can be applied, not the latest.

Very true (and a good point). I almost forgot about that. Well, you'll still have your data; albeit, not AS up to date as you'd like...

Well if this person has a dev account, why is he asking such basic questions? Probably bought access to a developer account just for the betas.
