The funny thing is, i'm sure the facetime app was previously white, but I guess they realised that the blurred camera behind the names didn't have an obvious effect on white. I'm not sure how I feel about the dark theme, but I never navigate to the facetime app specifically since on the iPhone it's pretty redundant.

Incidentally, i like the fact that the hello12 wanted us all to know how popular his is with Danielle and Amanda, yet chose to mask the rest of his contacts!

I've been praying for this feature for a while.

Having the option to have a Day and Night theme. Just look at the FaceTime app, that would be sick.

I also love that half the justification for the argument against it has to do with Android. Good lord, let it go.

Yup, Apple doesn't provide any options at all...oh..wait...
lol they don't especially software wise. Go ahead and erase all those stock apps you don't use, change the font, use your BT for something besides headphones and similar.... oh... wait... I can keep going and going and going...

But then go ahead and turn of Parallax, go ahead and make the font larger, go ahead and disable or enable Notification Center or Control Center on the lock screen, go ahead and even just disable Control Center within apps, go ahead and enable or disable automatic updates, go ahead have Do Not Disturb active while the phone is unlocked, or only when it's locked...hey, what do you know, options.

lol again, you do realize you are talking about features (that were never there before so they don't work for trying to explain :apple: giving options) of a beta release. Many betas have a bunch of options that are then removed or locked in the GM, hey what do I know, I have been using iOS devices since yearsss ago...

you know that looks exactly like Android 4.0+ right?
It has a black background and some blue and white elements...but that doesn't make it look exactly like it, just mainly similar in overall colors.

qualify it however you like.. but 4.0+ is predominantly black with blue trim. that looks incredibly similar.

Yeah man, it looks EXACTLY like it.

I'd say so.

Because it uses blue and black?

I'm confused. Does that mean Windows Phone also looks like Android?

I mean, as a designer you can really only make a list of data look so many different ways. What about Safari in Private Mode? Is that ripped straight from Android too?

you're splitting hairs. if you don't see a strong similarity between the two, I don't know what to tell you.

I'm not splitting hairs. He posted the factime contacts app, you posted an About Phone screen and claimed that because they both used black and blue iOS all of a sudden "looks exactly like Android" when in fact, the contacts app he posted looks nothing like the contacts app in Android. Comparing apples to oranges.

Moot point anyway, seeing as though we'll never even get the option for a dark theme.

You people say it looks like android...... Does android own the color black or something?

I would love a dark theme. Who cares about how it is stylistically, give both options... All the white space kills my eyes at night. I triple click home to invert colors (which helps a lot).

For those who say it's bad in sunlight, yes... But the phone already makes tons of little micro adjustments of brightness.. It would be so easy to have it use black when it detects very low light.

There is absolutely no disadvantage in offering the ability to use dark themes.. It could just e a proper implementation of the Accessibility feature Invert Colors, which is just a super lazy way of giving people an inconvenient and usually nasty way of not burning the eyes and brain at night.
