Trying to share anything (photos, links, etc) via Message...for example. In the photos app, try to share a photo via message. iOS 7 GM on iPhone 5 will only send via text message instead of iMessage.

I'm wondering if this will be fixed tomorrow with public release...meaning apple will turn this feature on via server side.

Natural texting in the messages app is fine as far as using iMessage.

Idk. Anyone else experiencing this?

Haven't had any issues with sharing things like photos over iMessage using iOS 7 GM or previous betas (on iPhone 5).

Perhaps try turning off iMessage and then turning it back on (if you haven't already)?

On mine, it briefly displays the recipient name in green, then fades to blue.

In Settings -> Messages do you have "Send as SMS" disabled? I do.

Cycling iMessage off and on didn't work but restarting phone did. All good now. Starts out as green when you go to share then fades to blue. Good to go!!!

Didn't realize that I haven't lost power or rebooted phone since I installed GM. :)

Had the same problem. Fixed by power cycle.

I sometimes have the same problem. Sharing via the Messages app from any other app only shows "green" names.

That is, I can go to Messages and send iMessage (not SMS) messages to my contacts, but if I try to send to that same address by picking "Share" from
- Photos
- Contacts
- Google Chrome
- Other
they all show as green (non-iMessage) addresses and it tries to send via SMS.

A phone reboot restores the ability to share via Messages without triggering SMS.
