no no gm= gold master the last version befor the final
apple can still fix problem whit the gm version like battery

No, GM is the final version. It is released to developers early to make sure there are no bugs that would cause major problems. If none are found, it is the final release. It will have the same build number, and those running the GM will not see an update available because the version coming out today as the same as what they already have installed.

Going from iOS 7 GM to actual release version

Not sure if anything did change between GM and today's release but how would I install today's release since my device already sees me with 7?

I think we broke a record this year on this same question being asked every day.

It is the same version! If there is an update to the GM then it will be indicated by a different build number and a OTA update will be available to you on your device. This has only happened once in iOS history.

I believe it won't show as an update on your device if they do release a newer build (highly doubt they will).

It won't let you update because you already have that version. If they did happen to change anything, then you will see an update available. But 99% likely that it has not changed and nothing will happen for you. The next update you'll get will be 7.0.1.

Usually, the GM released to developers is the same as the version released to the public. Only once or twice has this been different. 4.2.1 being the obvious one, where they had to fix a wifi issue that was discovered on the 4.2 GM.

You are using the FINAL build of iOS 7.

They would release it as 7.0.1 so it would. The new iPhones already have 7.0 installed.

Will it show as an update? I don't believe it will. I could be wrong though.

Not necessarily.

It would have to, if they release a new version (which would essentially be GM 2), they would have to release an update as all new iPhone 5s's and 5c's will have the current GM. They will all need an update as well.

The GM is what the phones leave the factory with.
Any changes between GM and public release would effect brand new phones just the same as yours so whether the build number chages or not, Apple will have a way with dealing with it.
Have a little faith.
When it was first released, the iPhone 5 could not install OTA iOS updates until it first installed a, wait for it........... OTA update.

Apple had to push a software fix that was totally independant of the iOS to solve the update problem.
They did and everything was peachy.
If for some reason the final iOS7 is not the same as the GM then Apple will find a quick and easy way to get it on to your device.
Guaranteed.

True.

I doubt we'll see that happen though as there doesn't appear to be any showstopper bugs founds (like the wifi issue with iOS 4.2).

I do think we'll see 7.0.1 pretty soon - maybe a few weeks.

What if I'm running iOS7 beta 6 (last one before the GM), will I be able to update OTA today?

Why can't people just get it once and for all!

GM = PUBLIC RELEASE
So we'll need to update from the GM to the public release? What is the exact time (to the second) when it will be publicly released? /s

using beta 6 and syncing photos after update to final build

I thought I read somewhere that I would not be able to sync my backup from beta version after I install the final build. Can anybody confirm or deny this? Would iCloud be better or can i just iTunes 11.1 Windows version to back up after restoring to the final build? Thanks :eek:

Seriously? /s

(You might want to look into the meaning of something like "/s" when it comes to internet postings.)

well maybe i don't look at acronyms or anything like that because i don't write like that, i use proper grammar and write out anything i mean, I'm sorry i don't understand those things like that

For future reference, "/s" means that the post was sarcastic.

Sometimes written as <sarcasm> POST </sarcasm> as well.

GM = PUBLIC RELEASE

THIS.

I don't understand the rampant willful ignorance on this topic this year. It has been this way since iOS 7 was created. There's a logical, understandable process here - even in how they handle bugs.
