I don't think the "Dynamic" wallpapers are helping with the animations an speed of the OS either.

I have the feeling we will have loads of threads like this by tomorrow.

Tomorrow? How about tonight. Everything everyone's been bitching about ios 7 that's legit is still a problem( long animations). And now we can watch the general publics first reactions.

Yep. This is what long time iOS users would complain about when trying Android for the first time. Its not laggy, its the animation.

4.1.2 Android let's me adjust the animation scale and duration with a bunch of options. I'll probably hop over to the Apple store and check out iOS7 today

I don't think the "Dynamic" wallpapers are helping with the animations an speed of the OS either.

Somehow I sincerely doubt that accelerometer input and a bit of animation is slowing down anything. Maybe if you're running an iPhone 4, but even then I doubt it.

I don't want buttery smooth. I want lightning fast twitches like the previous iOS. Are you telling me opening a folder on iOS 7 is faster than iOS 6? There is a second delay.

iPhone 5.

You've been a member of MR since 2011 and you haven't read anything about the speed of the animations in iOS 7 on these forums, looked at a YouTube video demonstrating the iOS 7 interface, or watched the WWDC Keynote or the iPhone event last week? I find that hard to believe.

If all that's true, you're one extremely uninformed MR member -- and that's nobody's fault but your own. Everyone who's a member of these forums has no excuse for not knowing what to expect with iOS 7. Every little aspect of iOS 7 has been discussed on these forums to death.

I really hope that the speed of the animations change in a future update. I used iOS6 for a while because I downgraded from beta 6, and what a difference in overall feel of speeding around the OS. iOS6 is too hard for me to look at now, so I won't stay behind just because of the animations in iOS7.

the delay the animations bring is painfully irritating, I wish there was a way you could just turn them off.

It makes the OS feel way less snappier than IOS 6.

Come to the dark side. We have cookies =P

Sorry, just couldn't resist.

These threads are kicking my OCD in overdrive again. Ugh just when I was getting over this slow animation speed lol. It's taking all my logic just to stay on GM and not go to iOS 6 to upgrade to iOS 7 to see if its different.

I see what you're saying now.

Yes, it's considerably slower than iOS 6 in terms of animations.

Doesn't bother me. I actually like the animations and they still don't take very long.

I think people are blowing it out of proportion!

On iOS 7 animation speed is slow(It's not laggy). Normally on Android devices this is a setting which user can set but unfortunately with iOS we have to suck it up.

I find it slightly entertaining that I've seen individuals express anger at iOS not having certain features that were present in even the early versions of Android but when those features are enabled, yet not blatantly implemented exactly in the same ways as Android individuals express anger that its not exactly the way they thought it should be.

I have found that my iPhone 5 is snappier. Even on my iPad 2, things are not slowly, although some of the animations aren't perfectly smooth, but considering the age of the device, it is pretty darn good.

iOS 7 was kinda sluggish after I got it installed on my iPad 4 and iPhone 5, but works buttery smooth after I did a restart on both devices.

-Locking the phone
-Unlocking the phone
-Opening a folder

And it looks and feels too much like a Windows phone. Wtf?

Also, the icons are way too big. They need to make it 5 on each block again.

The phenomena you're describing is not present on my iPhone 5 or iPad 4.

There's no substantive commonality between Windows Phone and iOS 7. There may be some superficial similarities at best.

I personally like the slightly bigger looking icons.

Calendar sucks. What the hell were they thinking!?!?!?
