I think that this feature should have been there since the begining, it just seems easy to implement but has a large effect in the experience quality of an app. Developers should ALWAYS create a iPad version, despite being better like this it is still far away from the expected, but most of apps right now already do it so...
Anyway, good work.

Half (anti-aliasing) of this feature has been present since the first firmware version of iPad 1. It's just that Apple wanted to boost iPad 3 sales that they removed it in iOS5 entirely to make the iPad 3, which offered this out of the box, more enticing for existing iPad 1/2 users.

BTW, back in the iOS5 times, Apple "explained" antialiasing was just a "bug", and this is why they removed it. What a blatant lie...

'bout time. I've been using RetinaPad for years. Pretty much only needed for abandon-ware now.

Erm, not all users. Original iPads will not be able to get this.

Fortunately, they can be JB'n for RetinaPad.

Shame on Apple for removing anti-aliasing in iOS5 to make the iPad 3 an even better seller.

And that explains why I didn't know about it... iPad 2 user...
Well, now it is fixed. :)

You mean Apple's removal of anti-aliasing (one of the two things added back now) in iOS5? The iPad 2 initially came with 4.3 - that is, anti-aliasing was available for around 7-8 months in the then-current iOS version. It was only in the Autumn 2011 that it was disabled by Apple when iOS5 finally arrived.

And they stated anti-aliasing was just a bug and this is why it has been removed from iOS5... they should grow a backbone and directly tell their customers they're removing features from older models because they want to make new hardware sell better. It's definitely better than their stupid lies.
