Perhaps because various people who are experiencing this didn't have any major issues with iOS before that warranted them creating an account on the forums? There are simpler explanations behind things, beyond any particular "conspiracy theory" ones.
I'm not buying this .... Motion sickness from a wallpaper .... What about a ride on a car ? C'mon ....

Yes, I'm a new member, created my account yesterday. As I've mentioned in prior posts, I owned the last 4 generations of iPhones. I also own an iPad3 and two 27" iMacs and a bunch of other iPods, for the record.

I've never had any major issue before with my Apple products, enough to warrant me to sign up on a forum.

But this zooming in and out animation is not a simple issue of preference, like saying "I don't like the new colors" or "why did they choose this font".

This issue affects me and others because it gives us headaches and feelings of nausea. I am on my phone all day long and opening and switching apps, and this makes me feel ill. It is a real issue, just like how some people get seasick on a boat (even if most don't).

I decided to open an account here and post to raise awareness of this issue and share my personal experience. It would be easy enough for Apple to have a preference to enable/disable it, just as they have done already with the parallax effect.

I may seriously consider selling my iPhone because of this issue.

You don't have to buy anything--no one is selling you anything. You don't have this issue, you don't care about it, so no need to participate in it. Simple. It doesn't change the issue for those who have it, and who can discuss it with others who might have it and/or others who want to discuss it (rather than pointlessly dismiss it without anything useful just because they aren't experiencing it and perhaps don't have enough ability to imagine that someone else might be experiencing all kinds of other things that they never experienced themselves).

I can't believe this is now an issue. Android has a lot of animations too, is that a problem for them too? I doubt it.

The key difference being: In Android, you can disable ALL animations!

Besides, Android has way fewer to begin with.

Seasickness and travel sickness in general are a totally different issue, caused by your inner ear .....

Dude I'm a pilot, I know about motion sickness quite well....

Motion sickness is caused by ..... motion, felt or seen. What motion are we speaking about ? A wallpaper on a 4" display ???? Omg ....

There are motion sickness phenomena on static simulators (you are seeing motion but not feeling it), but you are speaking about huge display covering almost 70% of you field of view.

You could like or hate iOS 7, it's a matter of personal taste, but don't speak about medical problems caused by it, please

OK, so what do you keep on trying to say/prove? That people aren't experiencing the issues? Are you those people? Do you know what they are experiencing? Do you have some sort of knowledge that can tell you what someone is or isn't experiencing?

Clearly that's not the case. No point of trying to argue something that you simply will never be able to prove no matter what. No point of taking up more space and time trying to disprove something that no one can since it just takes away from the actual discussion, which is clearly not relevant or meaningful to you anyway.

We are referrring to "motion sickness" in a general sense. Whatever you want to call it, it is caused by the constant zooming in and out, when opening and closing apps.

If you read the wiki page linked above (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_sickness ), there are many types of "motion sickness" caused by a variety of environments. Both real motion and perceived motion.

And most people hold their phones their phones 8 to 12 inches away when reading, so your eyes are fully focused on the screen and it does take up a reasonable amount of the practical field of view.

And the nauseous feeling I'm experiencing with IOS 7 is very similar to that feeling when I'm on a boat or a rough plane ride. It is real and uncomfortable, however you refer to it.

And while you may be immune to this, there seem to be a group of people who are sensitive to this real issue. So it is ignorant and insensitive of you to say that the the "motion sickness" we are feeling is a matter of "personal taste". I have a headache because of this - and I never get headaches.

I estimate maybe 5-10% people are affected, which is potentially millions of worldwide users. All we're asking for is an option to enable/disable. And for the record, I like IOS 7.

Anyway, the rest of us can keep talking about this if we want. I've seen some other posts in different forums but nothing that hasn't already been discussed here. In fact, I'm not sure how much more there is to discuss :) other than asking folks to submit a feature request to allow control over the animations.

After two days with ios 7, I wake up with my eyes hurting and a slight headache.

My only solution so far is to look away or close my eyes when opening and closing apps.

I would downgrade to ios 6 in a second if there was an easy and safe way because of these headaches.

After a few minutes of using IOS7 on my iPhone 5, I started getting a feeling of nausea and my head started to hurt. I've tried turning on the "reduce motion" thing in general settings and it doesn't seem to help. I can't use it for more than a minute or two before the nausea kicks in.

Anyone know of any way to disable all the zoom/motion stuff? If there isn't, I think I need to find a way to revert to IOS6.

Now I have to go lay down.

I lol'ed, really.

This is awesome.

My wife legitimately has motion issues and it messed with her. Fortunately you can set "Reduce Motion" under Accessibility in settings.

I don't get dizzy, but the zooming into everything is just overkill & unnecessary. It looks great for a little bit but after so long you just want to get rid of them. Even with Reduce Motion on it still zooms in all over the place.

Well I'm a big fan of everything Apple does and I love iOS 7 but those zoom in/out animations are really doing something to me or my brain. No headaches but the more I use it, the more I feel kind of dizzy or my head is spinning and I feel the need to close my eyes many seconds to "defocus" from the screen. Feel also a very very slight nausea or uncomfort. The effect is difficult to explain. Note that I never suffered of motion sickness. The animations look impressivevat first, annoying very soon after some use and they seem to affect a non negligeable amount of people...I think Apple got it wrong on that one and I bet we will see an option to turn that effect off sooner than later or they will just modify them.

Hey ur not alone. I'm getting the same. I won't say I'm particularly prone to motion sickness but this constant zooming in is definitely annoying. I do hope they come up with the option to turn it off. Currently I close my eyes every time I know there's going to be animation.

I love all things apple..... and I am experiencing the same problem. I realize most people will not have this problem, but for those of us who do it is definitely unfortunate. i have a 4s and was planning to order a 5s on launch day but I am holding off to see if a fix for this (the ability to disable) is released. Otherwise, I may sadly have to look at a different phone. :( I also was planning on purchasing an iPad next month... so I really hope a fix is issued. Those of you who are making fun are fortunate to not have this issue, but please be respectful to those of us who do.

same problem for me

Sad to see people dismissing or ridiculing others over this.

I have the same issue with the swooping app transitions (and no it's not the parallax setting, I turned that off), makes me low-level nauseous which is pretty unpleasant.

For the benefit of the skeptics out there, I never ever get seasick, I can read all day in the car, etc. The only other time this has ever happened was playing Half Life 2 (not any other 3D games, by the way) -- I remember searching about that and seeing similar complaints (as well as similar "it's all in your head" skepticism).

The only thing that matters is that my phone, which I use 50+ times a day, now makes me nauseous. Have yet to see anything official out of Apple on the issue.
