Hello guys

I love my iPhone 5S but I'm a bit disappointed that iOS 7 is still a bit choppy on my iPhone 5s device. Of course it's fast at opening apps an other stuffs but I'm concerned about 2 things :

- Multitasking is sometimes a bit choppy when I open Messages or AppStore, it's not a big issue, but it's sometimes laggy to open these things and it' sad for a premium device
- Since 7.0.3 there's also a little lag when I close the AppStore or Instagram to go back to home

Anyone else have these issues ?
Hope it will get fixed by future updates

My first Space Gray 5s was a little choppy...Exchanged for a silver, not that color plays a part, but my new one runs a smoother for what it's worth.

It was probably the software problem in the space grey, did you restore before returning?

Yes tried a hard reset, and then restored it and it still exhibited some choppiness. We're not talking ground breaking, but it was there. New one runs extremely smooth.

I optimized my iOS7 in every way I could think of. Turn off all features to save battery life and make phone faster but my 5S is still randomly slowing down and on 4 occasions now phone became unresponsive. I had to restart it. This never happened to my iphone 5. Its not as annoying since it only happens once every few days but comparing to my previous phones iOS7 is definitively a let down. I restored my phone from backup like I always do but I rear that I should do a clean install. By clean install do you guys mean I would have to manually put all my pictures, notes, contacts and other information on new phone? Seems like a lot of work.

I did a clean install for the first time in about 3-4 years a couple days ago. I use iCloud gmail and Picasa for notes, contacts and pics respectively so I only had to manually download each of my apps and sync with iTunes to get my music.

The only downside is you lose your texts/iMessages and visual voicemails. I'm sure there is a way to preserve them but I didn't care enough to look.

My 5S seems noticeable smoother now. The lock screen doesn't "jump" when I unlock anymore and it feels snappier. No more random crashes to the springboard either.

I think the "jump" when unlocking was fixed with 7.0.3

I think most of the problems comes from restoring an old backup. I've never had problems as setting up as a new phone.

Could be I'm just always lucky though.

iOS 7 not so smooth on iPhone 5s

No lag at all on mine. It seems many people have been getting glitchy devices. I'd return mine.

Only lag I've seen is when pulling down the Spotlight bar from the home screen.

All iOS devices seem to lag a bit when doing that, and the 5S is no exception.

Richard I don't think we are saying you need to close thing or not to use features to make it work. 5s here running everything no lag. We just shooting ideas to help this particular person but quite honestly he just needs to take if in to apple.
