ios 7 on iPod touch 4g manually?

    Is it possible to Manually install ios 7 onto a 4th gen touch using ipsw files from the internet? (Like from iDownloadBlog)

    It's not possible. The code isn't there for the iPod Touch 4G, it will be rejected. There's a reason why there are multiple files for the same device, if a GSM iPhone 5 couldn't use a CDMA iPhone 5, there's no way any version of iOS 7 will install on the iPod Touch 4G.

    The 4G iPod touch is slow enough. iOS 7 can't be installed, highest is 6.1.6.

    and now in 2018 someone has figured out how to install it via a modified iPhone 4 ipsw. It's buggy as **** but here you go person from 2015:

    It has a watchdog kernel panic on 8GB devices and tons of stuff doesn't work.
    Its a definite WIP but fun none-the-less!
