I installed the Yosemite GM, but whenever I enable SMS forwarding on my iPhone it prompts me to enter the code, which doesn't appear on my Mac?

First reboot both devices then sign out of Messages on your device with Yosemite then sign back into messages on that same device and try to send a text message from there. Try to let your Mac be the first one to pop up mentioning SMS forwarding because it needs to give you the code.

I had to put a checkmark next to my email for 'Send & Recieve' under iMessage. After I did that it prompted me for the code on all my devices:eek:

Thanks for the reply!

There you go its a lovely lovely thing isn't it? Hahaha

If they plan on releasing it with the new iPads I dont see how there will be a beta 3. The next will have to be a gold master next week after the announcement. Unless the iPads are being pre-loaded with 8.0.3 right now which makes more sense and will be the version released next week.

Many wonder what the next lottery numbers are as well, but that doesn't change the fact that no one knows or even gets closer to knowing no matter how many times it might be discussed and how many guesses are made.

Cool; Looks like i should be playing that lottery after-all. lmao :apple:#12B407

with rumors saying oct 16 for the ipad event, i dont see a beta 3 especially with how great beta 2 looks already & all those with wifi problems that went to it say its fixed. plus beta 2 -> public will probably have another wave of fixes in that transition

You can. Although guessing is still guessing--sometimes you can be right, or close to right, and other times you are wrong.

Does your udid have to be registered to install ios 8 beta 2? Really missing camera roll!

thanks for the quick lesson in guessing; i guessed thats what it meant but you know i wasn't quite sure.

I actually used this thing called logic. Logic told me if they are developing 8.1 .2 and .3 simultaneously--which has been confirmed by anyone who actually has knowledge of the development side within apple----then theres no possible way 8.1 beta 2 COULD take anywhere over 1 week to seed; why? Because like everything else in this .1 .2 .3 historical simultaneous development process, the length and amount of 8.1 betas before publicly released and before the next beta or build is released will be substantially different and most likely therefore less than if Apple was sticking to their normal .1 development where they don't launch the PR until months after .0 was released. This whole deal will be sped up; Logic told me they still need a 6-8 days to seed new betas.

Now HERE is where the logic ENDS and guessing; that thing you taught me up there; comes in to play i am GUESSING they will be seeding the GM of 8.1 beta next and it will, in my best GUESS, come out the 14th with Yosemite following shortly after on 10/16 and the public release of 8.1 on the 20th.

uh YES it does!!!!!!! i hope you registered before trying it---like any, other, BETA, this is developer only and in order to have access to the software in apples developer portal we all know what you must do.

----------

when will we see beta 3? :p

my best GUESS (this thing i was just taught by CDM) is next tuesday aka the 14th however i think it will already be the 8.1 GM; with the PR of Yosemite following 2 days after debuting on the new iMacs revealed at the Event, followed by the public release of 8.1 on the 20th.

no. he asked if he needs to be registered to install it, not to obtain it.

Yup, a guess is a guess, even if an "educated" one and even if ends up being right. Guessing can be fun, at last for some, sure, but that's more or less it as there's no actual real information there (short of someone having actual inside information). That's certainly not to say that people shouldn't be talking about it and guessing, or anything like that, but simply to comment that all kinds of guesses will show up and while some might be right or close to right, it doesn't necessarily make them somehow better than the rest (or other guesses worse) in the overall sense.

That said, seems like some people might be taking something fairly inconsequential more seriously than it really is, and/or reading into things that aren't really there, and/or perhaps even taking things personally without any real need for any of that.
