Running latest 8.2 beta...

Timer seems to work fine. What are the steps to reproduce?

It's been around since iOS 7 as I recall. Only seems to affect regions outside of North America when using 12-hour clock, as I recall.

C DM: Correct. Apple doesn't give a crap about anything outside of there US bubble.

If you use 12 hour clock outside of the US, the timer on the lockscreen is non functional SINCE FOREVER!

Just fix WiFi already....

So yes Apple, just fix it already..

iOS 8.1.3 on Both
iPhone 6 128GB (grey if that matters) around 50 apps, plenty of space
iPhone 5 32GB (black) same

routers:
Airport express IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n
Linksys
Zyxel
D-link

Same thing keeps happening over and over.
iPhone 6 freezes and it's completely unresponsive for 2-3-4-5 seconds, doesn't matter if i'm in safari or just on the main screen trying to swipe, even the buttons are unresponsive. It sometimes happens even when i'm not using WiFI, but on 3g/4g.
I can see that when i'm on WiFi (Airport express), and it becomes unresponsive, it loses it's wifi and switches to broadband quickly and back to WiFi.

And then we get fixes for..?

complete waste of update unless you REALLY want a watch! ohh and don't forget the emojis, cause that will make us forget the real issues...

Apple get it together and just fix this already...

Ohh almost forgot also have the Crescent moon defect...

Music stability? I hope that means I can go back to using my phone in my car again. Audio playback via USB has been buggy as hell since I got my iPhone 6. I have a 2014 car with Chevy MyLink and even though it indexes my music properly and shows every track, I am entirely unable to play an album in track order. Every time it advances to the next song there's a long pause, then it jumps to a random track. And yes, I am certain shuffle is off. When I watch the music app on the phone as it advances tracks it kicks back out of Now Playing, the top right Now Playing button flashes on and off like the app is wigging out until it settles on some random spot. Only happens when controlled by my car, works just fine on headphones. Worked fine on my iPhone 5 with iOS 7, worked fine with an old iPod i borrowed, works fine with the same music on a USB drive. Actually works fine over bluetooth but I dont like using it since I cant access music listings via the dash and I'd rather not screw with my phone while driving. Plus they even did something to bluetooth to make my cars BT to lock up every now and again. Basically if it ever disconnects while driving, it will never reconnect until I shut off the car and kill power to the stereo. Something got borked in iOS8 and since there has been no update to my car's system, Apple better have gotten it fixed.

I've had no issues in my car playing via USB. Are you using iTunes Match and trying to stream over cellular?

In what situation would u want to turn off privacy of tracking, steps & distance ?

Wouldn't you WANT that ?

(Edits: i can't wait for the public beta..) :D

no idea what bug you guys are running into but i use the timer every morning to snooze.

and yes,
  • i use a 12-hour clock
  • i am outside the US
  • i'm running 8.1.3

That's an old bug for 7.1.2... Tested and works on 8.1.3 with 24-hour turned "OFF' (since thats how i always have it)

Dunno if carrier would matter... but i'm guessing you did an update... yes ?
I don't run into this issue, I was just clarifying some earlier posts about it when people weren't sure what it was all about.

I still think Apple was going to release iOS 8.2 this week, but they delayed it to incorporate the fix to the "Freak" security vulnerability. As such, it'll probably roll out around March 9 to 10, 2015.

There's that possibility. There's also the possibility that they weren't going to release it before their event next Monday.

The non-functional timer on the lock screen is probably NEVER going to be fixed.

I guess Apple is living in there U.S. bubble, they don't even test any other region settings.

Doesn't work since 2013!

Or more simply they don't care enough about this bug (at least in comparison to other issues and things they have to do) to actually finally fix it.

Nope. All I have is my standard music library. I've checked the tag data in my files just to make sure something wasn't missing or corrupt. Nothing wrong as far as I can tell. I've also been unable to play podcasts in the car. They show up but as soon as i tap the screen on my dash to pick an episode, nothing happens. That seems to have something to do with the fact Podcasts is a preinstalled app now. Music may have been rewritten to remove playback for podcasts to make you use the app. In the past the Music app had played the podcasts when controlled with the car. I've asked and there has not been a single update from GM since I got the car. Seems they pretty much never update a car system which is why I'm praying Apple can fix it on their end. I was also thinking perhaps there was something corrupt in the index presumably stored by the MyLink software. Having a hard time finding any info on full reset.

Yes it seems that way.

But still... it's kind of big feature but non-functional for years (everywhere outside the u.s.), very strange.
