Get used to having issues. I doubt 8.2 is going to be the saving "fix" for your phone. If you assume that with a new phone coming out every year that the lifetime of the phone is untill the next release of a similar phone then as an owner of an "S" family phone your phone is due for uprgrade this year.
 
Just got it. Battery life has improved dramatically in the first 5 minutes of use and everything is 5x faster. An SD card slot also magically appeared and now I have 256gb of space. 8.2 is amazing.

I'm pretty familiar with the iOS ecosystem and how everything works. I didn't expect it I just heard a lot of rumors that it was today

Yeah if you look at those "bunch of rumors" they all point to the BGR report which is known to miss the mark quite often with their "secret source" they have. They get close at times but nothing to bank on and most other sites reference back to them for their rumor so really only 1 rumor technically, BGR's.

Mon, Tues, and Wed are typical release days but potentially they can release anytime. So yes its still possible for this week. Nobody knows and Apple watch not due out until April so it could be toward the end of the month too.

It could come out later this week...or next week...or the week after that...
 
Is the iOS 8.2 build for the iPhone 4s be smaller since it won't support Apple Watch? It would be sheer laziness if update had the software even though it doesn't support it.

What do you mean you just got it? I looked on the software update on my phone and it does not show that it's available yet. Are you talking about beta?

Not that many.
iOS 8.2's main feature is WatchKit/enabling usage of Apple Watch - this includes an Apple Watch configuration app and the Fitness app. And after giving this enough thought, I think it will be released next week after the event where these apps are showcased for the first time.
