In iOS 8.4 do the cellular data options change with regard streaming Apple Music? Right now the options are grouped such that if I want to use iTunes Radio by cellular I need to also permit automatic downloads. Have these now been separated somehow?

In settings there is an option to allow cellular for automatic downloads, iTunes Match and apple music. But also toggle to turn off cell dat for music. This in 8.4 beta

As far as I can tell from using Beats Music extensively on my iPhone 6 for the last few months: A TON of listening (I work 12 hour shifts and listen for at least 3-4 hours a day for half the month without wi-fi and then a few songs in the car here and there on my days off) is going to set you back anywhere from 2-3 gigs in the month. Beats uses about 2.6 gigs of data for me in a month.

How is your battery life when listening to streaming music?

It's alright. It will drain your battery probably at what you would expect. Keep your charger handy like I do. I typically turn the screen off when I'm streaming a playlist or album or at most keep the home screen locked
