Please help me guys, I'm really bothered by this.

I upgraded today and the first thing I noticed was custom album art on my purchased iTunes songs (for many albums, I used jpg's) was switched with stock album art from the iTunes store... If that's not bad enough, many of them are flatout wrong!!!

Example: Lady Gaga's "The Fame" now has the same album art as her "The Fame Monster" EP. Those are two completely different albums. What the hell, iOS?

As somebody who spent countless hours meticulously organizing my iTunes library with correct album art, this is really upsetting to me! My actual iTunes library (on my computer) still has my original album art tagging, thank God... I don't want to do anything that would jeopardize the hard work I put into my iTunes tagging and organizing. I know this is a problem with Apple Music and its stupid integration with the cloud, but just tell me what to do so that I can keep my iOS 8.4 upgrade, while reverting my music (on my phone) back to where it was before!?

Thank you.

My album art is custom like yours, but I didn't have an issue when I upgraded to iOS 8.4.

iCloud music library matching can be very dumb and mismatch a track that appears on multiple albums to the wrong album. (It looks at artist and track name and pretty much ignores album name when matching.)

To fix it, just go into iTunes on your Mac. Right click the album art that has messed up art on your phone. Select "get info", go into the artwork tab, select the album art (putting a blue square around it), command + C then command + V (copy, paste) the correct art, hit done and shortly after you should see it update on your phone to the correct art.

That's not a viable option, at all. I shouldn't have to, nor do I want to, mess with the tagging I have on iTunes. It's on my iPhone where it doesn't translate for some reason.

lol. Ok. Enjoy your mismatched album art then.

You asked for help, I gave you a solution to fix the wrong artwork that the phone sees and you don't "want to"? Why ask for help then? Not a viable option? It's the only option you have on mismatched items.

You aren't messing with tagging you have in iTunes. You're literally just copy and pasting the art you have in tunes so that it updates and corrects what is shown in the iCloud music library.

I had this problem and I remedied it by unsyncing my music, turning off Apple Music, and resyncing. The artwork didn't get changed again after that even after turning on Apple Music again. Strange right?
& lagwagon there was no need for attitude!

Happened to me too. I unchecked Sync Music in iTunes on my mac. Synced. Then rechecked Sync Music. Synched. And they were all back.

Signed out of Apple Music and signed up for Spotify soon after. Not exactly related, but didnt inspire confidence.
