It doesn't add a lot of new features, just a few, and it's completely unestable on my iPad Air and on my iPhone 5s

More than a beta it seems an alpha

It's a VERY early Beta, more of a concept then something anyone could use in their daily life...

Even with a complete overhaul last year, iOS 7 was better.

clean install on a 5s and have had almost no issues. Visual glitches but don't impact day to day use.

Hardly any problems on my 5S! iOS 7b1 on my 5 was really painful. Luckily it didn't last long as 7b2 was release 2 weeks later and improved things significantly. I'm hoping that we get iOS 8b2 on a similar fast release schedule!

Mine has been pretty typical so far. Working pretty good. 1 app doesn't work and a few springboard crashes but nothing terrible. Some people on here are dramatic.

A few bugs, but the OS and Apple apps are stable on both my iPad Air and iPhone 5. A few third party apps crash, but infrequently, and that's to be expected.

I have no real problems with it on my iPad 2 and 3. (Apart from the lack of jumping to the top of Web pages by touching the status bar in Safari.)

Threads like this remind me why Apple doesn't do public beta testing.

If you absolutely MUST run the new iOS without being a developer, it would behoof you to wait until at least beta 2 or 3, when the most obnoxious bugs have been squashed.

C'mon people. I'd swear many of you are masochists. :)

The beta seems more stable on A7 based devices.

Also, it's not the "worst" beta...if you are talking about instability, beta 1 of ios 7 was much less stable. Again, it is VERY inadvisable to run ios betas on your primary phone, ESPECIALLY if you are not an actual developer and don't know what you're doing.

Let me guess, you're not a developer?

iOS 8 has been awful for me so far. But that's okay, because I know I'm using a beta version. I personally enjoy the beta process no matter how painful it can be at times, because it gives me a greater appreciation for the work that goes into iOS. When people were complaining about the final release of 7.0, I couldn't help but think to myself, "Oh boy, you should have seen it three months ago..."

When you do an option click update, the iOS 8 beta is one of the best betas.
iOS 7.0 beta 1 or 2 was the worst beta for me

Then I wouldnt visit the 10.10 Yosemite section once the Public Beta program launches...
