Heres a constructive comment:

1. Clean install does not equal restoring from back up.
2. Installing the right build for your device helps.
3. If you ever, at any point, have unnaturally bad battery life after following 1 and 2.... You're lying.

I know troubleshooting, I do it for a living, and Im familiar with people lying about what they did hoping for an answer they won't otherwise get from people who pay no mind to those who don't troubleshoot on their own.

Clean install or don't post? We're talking about a GM here, it NEEDS to work even if the upgrade was not done via clean install, it's customers we're talking about.

1. I agree that a backup from a beta build is bad idea, although a backup of a public build must work. Yes, most of the times many issues are solved by clean installing the OS, but that's not an excuse for things not working right.

2. iTunes only allows the right build to install on the right device, so this bullet is useless.

3. Battery life DOES sometimes go crazy bad and believe me sometimes not even a clean install works, so no. One is not lying when asking if someone else has the same issue.

And finally, 4. don't be so rude telling people to "clean install or don't post", we're supposed to help each other in the forums, not shut the other people up :)

Perhaps English is not his first language, let's cut him a bit of slag. So you don't go around stating that everyone is lying all the time. That would suggest there is a level of intent in providing the information which is clearly not the case. I mean as a "troubleshooter" surely you don't tell people constantly to their face that they are lying do you? Well not unless it is commonly known that you may have some "problems".

However reading between the lines padmini does have some valid points. About the fresh install, getting the latest apps on it etc. also that following s new install battery life can be hammered as there is indexing going on, application updates and all sorts. It all takes a little time to settle down.

Is it just the iMessage notification that do that for you or other applications as well?

Have you got your phone on charge when it does that or does it do it indiscriminately of power status?

Is there a particular app you are in when it does that or are you just on the home screen?

It would really help if you can provide as much information around the scenario this happens in as you can.

As said I've been running this for months and not noticed it.

Oh and which device do you run it on?

I didn't do a clean install, i just updated and i'm not seeing any problems.

Not saying it's right or wrong to clean install but i've not got the time personally. I've just updated from beta to GM in the past with no probblems and i'll do it again.
