iOS 8 GM Release Date?

New question: GM OTA update from beta 5 or no? I know that it has never been done in the past but there is a first for everything!
Well, the current known answer is "no". Could that change? Perhaps. Is it likely that it would change? Probably not.
Last year iOS 7 was released 2 days before the 5s was released. So if the iPhone 6 is released on September 19th, then the 17th is a good bet for iOS 8.
Nope. Never has been in the past if I remember correctly. Apple wants devs to load the GM fresh so the beta doesn't leave anything behind.
Who knows, depends on what Apple decides to do.

Sounds like the "beta 6" build that was recently released to carriers/partners for (perhaps final?) testing.
No poll necessary, you are (more than likely) 100% correct, for the public release.
For developers, they will get a GM build Sept 9th. On that beta history website, it shows the GM was out for 8 days before public release with iOS 6 and 7.
Assuming that the Sept. 9th date is the date of the announcement, it will be released that day.... Probably in the afternoon hours (3-5 PM EST)

It makes me wonder if they are going to do pre orders for the iPhone 6, since they didn't for the 5S last year.
