Rumors don't become fact by repetition. Until Apple announces something we are all just playing a guessing game.

... history, from the past releases of 6 and 7, shows that the GM is available the afternoon after the new phone is announced.

Last year iOS 7 was released 2 days before the 5s was released. So if the iPhone 6 is released on September 19th, then the 17th is a good bet for iOS 8.

Nope. Never has been in the past if I remember correctly. Apple wants devs to load the GM fresh so the beta doesn't leave anything behind.

Sounds like the "beta 6" build that was recently released to carriers/partners for (perhaps final?) testing.

No poll necessary, you are (more than likely) 100% correct, for the public release.

For developers, they will get a GM build Sept 9th. On that beta history website, it shows the GM was out for 8 days before public release with iOS 6 and 7.

Assuming that the Sept. 9th date is the date of the announcement, it will be released that day.... Probably in the afternoon hours (3-5 PM EST)

It makes me wonder if they are going to do pre orders for the iPhone 6, since they didn't for the 5S last year.
