iOS 8- iCloud Drive and iCloud Photos explanation

Hi,

Can someone clearly explain the iCloud documents compared to the new iCloud Drive, and the current photos (camera roll and photo stream on each device) versus the new layout?

I have read they are different, but I would like a succinct explanation of the differences and what to do and what not to do before I upgrade and screw one of them up.
