The fact that there may be a fix for each and every way it happens isn't really a solution. Besides the fact that you often don't know which memory-grabbing issue you currently have, isn't it the computer's job to figure this stuff out for us?

Oh, I agree. :) I just thought the OP wanted to figure out what's up with movies remaining cached for seemingly no reason.

I've lost 5gb after I updated to 8.1


Consider yourself slightly lucky...restored phone from iCloud..everything seems normal until I noticed the SSD for the photos stored in my phone is double. iPhone says I have 1.8gb used space for photos but iTunes says 3.6gb used?!

Note: restoring will only increase the space it thinks I used for photos stored in my iPhone
