iPhone ios 8 public??

My son just sent me a screenshot of his 5s saying his phone software was up to date with iOS 8.
He has NOT been on the beta.
Anyone else been upgraded??

He installed the GM this morning.
Not the public release.

We have GM installed on our phones. Its the same as the public release but released earlier to developers first.
