Hi anyone running iOS 9.2 on their iPad 2 ?
Is it any faster? Thanks!
Any faster than what? We have one running 9.2 but to be honest, its an old iPad and can only do so much. It's usable if you have patience. It does not crash or hang or anything bad, its just slow in general. Its used for basic purposes like email and web surfing so nothing too demanding.
Yeah it's used for news apps, browsing, music, and Google search
the iPad 2 is slow, and old. I'm using it on iOS 9.2 and it is usable. But slow.
Acceptable to me. Safari crashes a lot on Macrumors.com.
I've an iPad 2 with iOS 9.2. In my opinion, it's usable but it's slower than the others version of iOS. But if you use it only for email, internet or facebook and other things like this it's ok.
I had OS 9.1 installed and I found it faster then with OS 8.x.
But it is anyway, so slooowww that I could not cope with that anymore.
I grab an IPad Air 2 recently, what a relief it was !
I just installed iOS 9.3 beta on my iPad 3 and it had a huuuge improvement in performance!
I too installed iOS 9.3 Beta 1 on my iPad 2 (64 GB Wi-Fi + GSM) and am finding performance to be improved overall compared to iOS 9.2. Considering the iPad 2 is relatively ancient, I am pleased that it continues to be stable and to adequately perform functions where needed. Slow yes but useable. My iPad mini 2 and iPad Air 2 on other hand are super fast and stable on iOS 9.2.
I guess 9.2 is a no go with ipad 2.
My grandmother uses one for her daily computer and it works pretty well on 9.2. Can't say if it's any faster than before as I haven't used it in a couple of years and only used it today to help her re-sync a bluetooth keyboard, but it was fast enough for something that's almost five years old. They're holding up well for relatively ancient devices.
Not in my opinion. I'm happy with 9.2 on my iPad 2. Multitasking is slow but in-app performance seems faster and more stable than 8.4.1 was. My experience with 9.0 was horrible - regular freezes of several seconds in safari and other apps - but 9.2 works well. Last year was the same story - 8.0 made me want to smash my iPad but a couple of minor updates later everything was much improved.
That said, if Apple pulls the trigger on an iPad Air 3 with A9X soon I might have to turn iPad 2 into a 9.7 inch frisbee.
