after updating beta 5 iPhone 5S heat up badly while using each and every app like pocket heater. Is anyone else experiencing worse battery life and their phone super heating Up.

This almost seems like a 5s-specific issue since people with the 6/6+ aren’t reporting much change in battery life...
Same experience here on my 5s. Heats up a bit after light usage and battery life drops quickly. Performance is smoother and scrolling is silky-smooth, which makes me wonder if something is kicking the A7 processor into overdrive...
Have you guys tried resetting the network settings? I noticed some warm up more so on 8.4 and a little on 9 beta 3 on both my iPad mini 2 and iPhone 6. After resetting the network settings, it's gone away.
I confirm this on my 6. And draining battery fast. Clean installed or update from 8.4 still the same
i tried to reset network setting but phone still boiling just wake up phone and start using than phone starts heat up sides frames its like super Hot ..
Did the regular OTA update on my 6 without any issues. Battery seems a bit better than beta 4, but too soon to confirm.
Tried this, no improvement.
Interesting that resetting network settings on my iPhone also logged me out of my network for all my Apple devices...
I wonder what may be causing this on some devices and not others. My 6 Plus doesn't have this issue at all.
My 6 Plus heated up quite a bit while installing however I haven't seen the issue since. Battery has been decent and beta 5 has been stable for me thus far.
That's probably it. Can't believe it was intended though, because this had the side-effect of disconnecting my Mac from the internet, which in turn stopped the downloading of some files.
Same on 5s. It is cool when sleeping, but can easily heat up after using a few minutes with only Tweetbot and IMs under Wi-Fi, ugh.
Yup, my 5S I use for development is like a furnace all the time, I've downgraded today because I'm a little bit worried about it. It's also the worst performing developer beta for iOS9, it's taking 1-1.5s for the screen to turn on and the battery life is abysmal, I'd imagine after 3 days of use it can't possibly be indexing anymore, so I'm fairly confident the 5S got the short end of the stick with this beta because my Air 2 is fine. I'm sure it'll improve with the next one.
Reset Network Settings didn’t change nothing for me, however Reset All Settings seems to have changed something. 20 minutes Sygic in the foreground (only map panning mode, no navigation) now brings me down from 51% to 44%. Unfortunately I haven’t done an ‘exact’ test before, but the drain before was roughly twice as much. However, felt heat generation still appears to be not normal, so I’ll go back (temporarily) to iOS 8 and compare.
The Reset All Settings had a very interesting side effect:
Last week (still iOS 9 beta 4), 2 friends told me that they had called me repeatedly on my iPhone and I didn’t respond. Back then I checked my Missed Calls list, and found nothing there. So I thought they called the wrong number.
Now, after the Reset All Settings, all these missed calls magically have appeared in the Missed Calls list!
(Accompanied by a New Calls badge on the Phone app icon; without that I wouldn’t have noticed it.)

Can confirm. 6+ and Air 2 have 0 over heating issues. Running great on b5/pb3.
Yes, my Air 2 behaves normally with Beta 5, too. (In contrary to the 5s.)
OK. In the meantime I did some more tests on the battery drain. I clean-installed iOS 8.4, DFU, no restore from backup, then no other 3rd-party apps besides Sycig, and the drain was 6%/20min. Then a clean-install of iOS 9 Beta 5, and the drain was 7%/20min, which is the same as with the dirtily-installed Beta 5 after having done Reset All Settings (see post above).
Of course, these results are not very accurate (slightly different screen brightness, uncontrollable background processes, based on the consumption of only one app, etc.). However, they tell me that Reset All Settings was a pretty good remedy for my 5s’ battery drain problem with Beta 5. Neither a clean-installed iOS 8.4 nor a clean-install of iOS 9 Beta 5 gave me significantly better battery efficiency.
Thanks to the folks who mentioned the Reset All Settings thingy!
[Anyway, now having a fresh and clean beta 5 on my 5s, I will take the opportunity and not restore the old state, but install one app after the other (only the needed ones ;-), that is, clearing out the years-old mess a bit ;-)]

Clean install of iOS 9 B5 on my iPhone 6 yesterday and at first my phone was very hot. Turned it off and let it sit for a few minutes. Turned it back on and everything has been great since. For battery life, never go by what you see on the first day. Though your phone presents you with with the home screen ready to use their is still plenty going on in the background such as indexing, downloading your iCloud Photo Library if you use that and plenty more I'm sure. I went from 100% to 75% in what felt like minutes yesterday. Yet today I'm at 2hrs usage, 7hrs standby and still have 84% with light to moderate use.
