When you search for extra info in the Mac OS X Address Book in other data fields i.e. address and notes etc you can find anything you're looking for that may help you find a person when you forget their name. For example, maybe I met a new friend at Starbucks or a new business contact at a trade fair. If I search for Starbucks or the trade fair their addresses will display. Unfortunately when you search the iOS Address Book all you can search for are people's names. Not very helpful when you can't remember someone's name or other info. Do many people know about this bug?

This is not a bug, it is the way it has been since the beginning. Many people have complained of this fact and the best way to address it is to provide feedback to Apple letting them know you would like to see the feature. Send feedback to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

I've been using GROUPS for the longest time but the idea is to have the same functionality across devices/machines not buy 3rd party apps to fix a problem. I'll use the feedback page above.
