iOS and iCloud Connection Issue

I have successfully installed iCloud on my PC and Lion systems and have contacts and calendars synching properly. But now when I try to set up iCloud on my iPhone 4S and iPad 2 it hangs, and nothing is synced. I really would like to get the contacts and calendars on my phone soon. I've tried resetting the phone by wiping it, I've tried changing my iCloud password, and when I try to disable the Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks or Reminders in the iCloud Settings on the phone it just hangs, with a "Turning Off" message and a circular indicator.

I can successfully log into my account on icloud.com.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
