iOS iOS app, how to make, sync database of venues, events?

I'm looking at what it would involve, to create an app that
- has a database of groups with their base (address, lat long, facebook page etc)
and maybe later an updating database of big maybe monthly events happening at these venues.

I'm trying to understand at a simple level, what best ways you could implement this?

I don't mind hardcoding the initial information, but how could that link to say CloudKit or FireBase to sync up changes? Any help would be appreciated!
