We made the app so it’s triggered by double-tapping the AssistiveTouch button

Interesting, didn’t know about the double tap shortcut! Is it possible to use back tap or action button too?

Yup. It's possible to use the backtap / action button.
Once you set up the shortcut as per shown in the second video (0 - 30 seconds).
You may assign the shortcut to the backtap / action button.
