One of the reasons I got the MacBook Air M1(apart from getting rid of the Touch Bar and the better battery life) was so I could run my favourite iPad apps on it.

Some are in the App Store and those that aren't I installed using iMazing. Some work great, some won't start and some of the games start ok but I am unable to control anything. Of the apps that start fine the biggest bugbear is that the majority won't go fullscreen, the green button doesn't work.

I guess its down to the developers, if they want to, to update the apps to go fullscreen. Just wondering if anyone has worked out any way to make the apps go full screen?

think will take time for more to add apps to M1. I have downloaded Apollo, thescore, one football e.t.c...surprised espy isn't there by default though.

not tried imazing yet I must admit

IMazing actually works really well and as long as you click”continue trial” each time it’s free.

Apps that are iPhone only are pointless as they are just too small on the MacBook but iPad apps, even those that don’t go full screen, are generally ok. Some of the apps that go full screen work flawlessly

yeah the apps I use have been fine and work well. as a football fan and nba fan got a good 4-5 apps that I use and work well on the m1 air. a reddit app was a must for me though so glad to see Apollo works well fine screen

Dont get over excited as some don't start at all (not many to be fair), the majority don't go full screen, but some work perfectly. They are not all in the mac store so you would need to use iMazing to get them if not. For me it has added another dimension to using the mac and i am now seriously thinking about selling my ipad pro 12.9. I expect in time more apps will appear in the app store as they are updated to work natively on mac

The ios apps on a Macbook remind me of Android apps on my old Chromebook. Most look like crap.

Yup. There will be more miss than hits if this follows what happened to Android. And the hardware is vastly different. You gonna pic up the laptop to activate an accelerometer? Some apps will be fine.

Most developers won’t build for the screen. We have many iPhone apps that never looked good on iPad.
