Hi, On my iPad 10.5 I can access local files ("on my iPad"). However I cannot find that option in the Files app on my mom's 9.7 iPad Pro (it only shows iCloud) or my 7+ iPhone (it shows iCloud and OneDrive - my mom doesn't have One Drive).

Any help would be appreciated.

This is completely unintuitive, but here goes...

  1. Go to the Photos app
  2. Find a picture and select it
  3. Click the sharing icon
  4. Click 'Save to Files'
  5. Put it in any available folder (you can remove it later)
  6. Open the Files app
  7. Now you should have an 'On my iPad' section.
That's how I got it to show on my iPad Pro.

EDIT: Word of warning. If you remove ALL the files you've saved this way, the 'On my iPad' will disappear again.

While that works you can’t create a folder on local storage. The only folder I have is numbers which can’t be deleted either. Weird.

I removed numbers, the folder disappeared and now I can not save anything to local storage at all. Shows up as an option but you can’t select it.

Worked perfectly, thank you!
