iOS issues with 6.1

I am having major battery life issues with ios 6.1
I have iPhone 5 16gb. Running ios 6.1 (jailbroken)

Is there a reason the battery life stinks? Can I upgrade to 6.11 or 6.12? Or is the newest ios (6.13) my only option?

I prefer to remain jailbroken, but this battery life is horrible.

Any help for a newbie would be appreciated.

Adjusting things in location services, notification center and changing any mail accounts from push to fetch will help a lot.
