Well at least it's not 3 billion.$250 Million for a freaking virtual keyboard company? This is total insanity.

What a stupid post. Microsoft has bar none the greatest keyboard on Windows Phone. Better than anything Apple or Google has put on their phones. It's Swype, but enhanced by MS. Compared to Swype on iOS, it's night and day better on Windows phone. And now Swiftkey will go downhill. Time to move to Swype.

Just because we don't hear about them doesn't mean Apple isn't acquiring interesting companies. On average they snap up a handful every year, most of which never get a mention in the press.Smart move!
I really like what Microsoft is doing recently. (In "doing" I count acquisitions too).
Apple's acquisitions on the other hand...
If it wasn't for beats you'd think they are broke
And now Swiftkey will go downhill. Time to move to Swype.
It's almost as bad as $3 billion for Beats.
No, nothing is almost as bad as that.

Don't worry, they'll just want your data. Given windows 10, they seem to be wanting more of that lately.Swiftkey is one of my favorite keyboard hands down. Now please don't ruin this microsoft

That's probably why Microsoft bought them, they seem to be really going the google way of doing things these days. Windows 10 is actually a pretty good OS it's just been tarred with Microsoft's total inability to communicate, and do things above board.Good match... With Windows 10 under the gun for tracking everything, Swiftkey has always reserved the right to keep a copy of everything the user types.![]()
It seems like a curious acquisition for MS, since they seem to be getting out of the phone business. I assume they'd want it for their Surface tablets.
