iOS only life & nas photos back up

hi i do consider switching solely to ios life style (iphone+ipad) and i do need to find how to do 2 things:
- get stuff from my camera to ipad and to do some basic phitos adjustments
- get photos to icloud and (mainly) create backups on my nas

Is this even possible with ios devices? With mac, I can do local backups of my photo library, but dont know if this os possible with ios devices. Any hints are appreciated🙂
