iOS photoshop cc 2015 question

I want to know is it worth to learning photoshop on your own to save money on making your own iOS and mac icons?My other question do other iOS programmer make there own icons?

I hope someone can help me with my question new to photoshop anyhow i can find someone that help me with my questions?

Have you considered GIMP? For basic uses like icon creation, it might work well for you. It's also free. The main deficiency in GIMP is a lack of adjustment layers. This probably won't be something you will need for your specific application.

The tools provided in vector art and drawing programs like Adobe Illustrator are better suited for icon and logo creation. Raster image programs like GIMP and Photoshop might have a more broad use. If money is not an issue, I would buy Illustrator and try GIMP in place of Photoshop.
