iOS TV app won't work

It has never worked for me. I'm running 10.2.1 on an iPhone 7. The app displays a blank page and then crashes after a few seconds. I tried deleting and re downloading it.

I use the US App Store, but I live in Japan and have a SoftBank SIM. The phone model is MNCM2J/A.

Could that have something to do with it?

This sucks because I can't watch movies I bought from iTunes. And the Video app seems to be gone from the store.

Isn't there anyone living outside the US but using the US App Store who has this problem?

Same thing here... living outside US and the app store crashes, even though the itunes account associated with it is a US one
