Hello everyone,

I got two iPads 2 for my kids which only upgrades to iOS 9. Most apps require iOS 10 or greater. How do I bypass this iOS verification?

thanks!

It’s not a “verification.” The apps will require features not in iOS 9. Unfortunately the usefulness of these old devices isn’t great if you need modern apps.

The App Store will sometimes allow you to install the last compatible old version if you try to install from existing purchases. Using the up-to-date versions of these apps isn't possible.

You are totally right AutomaticApple & Paddle1. Thanks everyone for your inputs! My 5 year old discovered last night that you can click on the purchase tabs from the apple store and download the apps from there. Then, we've been just downloading the apps on our up to date iphones, and getting them on the iPads 2 with the same apple ID. Most have worked great, other than disney+ that doesn't want to run either on the browser (once we click on sign in) or the app itself. However, we've been able to do this successfully with about 20 apps now.

Yes, this worked for me as well on some but not all apps I was after. However, I noticed something worth mentioning (I think): selecting the app - most times - produced an error complaining of compatibility, etc...while selecting the 'cloud' icon or 'get' icon to the right of the app gave me the 'get the last compatible version' option. Or, I was hallucinating the whole thing. If you get an error message, try selecting the icons instead.
