So looking at the iPhone X, I have seen some amazing wallpapers that I would love to have on my 8+. Why has Apple used wallpapers as a differentiator on newer phones? OLED screens will make some pop more but that shouldn't be a reason to leave them off older devices. I would love for Apple to change their stance on this or create a new App with new Wallpapers they can update frequently from time to time that independent of the OS. We don't have the ability to customize much as it is now so withholding new wallpapers from older devices is a little over the top.

No. Not in the same way. They do have a few live wallpapers where you can 3d touch them on the lockscreen and they move around. Just fancy colors and such moving around. They used to have "live" fish you could mess around with back on 6s i think.

Do a search for iPhone X wallpaper and look under images. Most are there.

I have a livephoto of my wife laughing as snow is falling for my "wallpaper" on my lock screen. Love it. Always brightens up my day when things aren't going so well.

Coming from Android (Note 3, etc...) - live wallpapers have always been battery intensive so I've always been against them.

The only true Apple LW is the floating bubbles. We can hope someday Apple will allow more customization.

Apple does a number of things that annoy me when it comes to wallpapers, like always getting rid nearly all the previous stock wallpapers with every new major iOS version. Every stock wallpaper since the original iPhone should still be available to choose from. It's not like they take up that much storage.

I'm lucky to have the fantastic Mi A1 Android One with Pixel 2 'waves crashing against beach' it's sublime.
7 hours SOT, no issues with battery drain.
I'd upload screen shot but get error, to large file.

I said this in another thread and I’ll say it again.

It’s dumb that certain devices get exclusive wallpapers. Especially considering they are always removing wallpapers with every update.

Took away three live wallpapers and added exclusive live and dynamic wallpapers for the x. Plain silly.
