I installed ios11 beta on my 10.5" iPad Pro, but am running into some really basic problems. originally the doc would only appear when I was in the app switcher view; not from a short swipe. A restart cured that problem. However, I cannot get the apps on the right side to appear to multi-task. Nor can I get any of the apps to multitask. In addition, I can't seem to do the 'launch two apps at once with different fingers' to work. Lastly, video overlay isn't working with youtube.

Is anyone else having these issues? idea on how to fix?

Thank you
Matt

I’m not sure if this is what you mean by multi-tasking, but if I make the Dock appear, I can long-press one of the icons on the right and then drag it up to the right-side of the screen and let it go, and then both apps work.

Apple really shot themselves in the foot here as they've been training people for ten years that long-press is for deleting and moving apps.

that's one of the issue. that does nothing on my iPad. can't run side by side apps with the ios11 install.

That is weird, might want to try reinstalling iOS11. All the mulltitasking stuff works great on my 10.5. The youtube app and mobile site have never supported video overlay for some reason. The only way to get it working is to use the "Desktop" version of youtube.com or a 3rd party app from the store.

Is the clear notifications "x" missing for the first set of notifications like it is for me?

If it makes any of you feel better, the dock never goes away on my 10.5".

And the app switcher having to hold on the apps to make the x appear is so awkward.

I’m having similar problems, but on my iPad mini 4. If I long press an app & drag it up to the right, it will create a black area for itself & then that will disappear, with the app icon showing in the centre of the screen for a second or so before disappearing. I reported it as a bug a week or two back & am hoping it’s fixed in the next beta. Am relieved that someone with a full sized iPad is having similar issues.

To mimic the desktop they should have the x already appear if someone wants to close an app similar to a desktop window.
