I think the introduction of rounded corners on the top of safari tabs (currently only when viewing open tabs) suggests to me that the 8 will have rounded corners on the top of all of apps.

This allows the status icons to remain on a black background and therefore not look bad next to the camera cutout.

You also have this rounded card theme throughout the redesigned apps like podcasts. Also the animation when opening and closing apps now shows the whole app as a rounded rectangle

You know I thought this too--and was going to post about it--that said, I do believe the iPhone 8 will have rounded corners but I don't think this is the dead-ringer for indicating that. Reason being, elements like the app switcher UI had rounded corners in iOS 10.
 
The messages app having the scroll bar along the bottom really looks to be hinting towards a 'function area' I'm all for it.

I'm loving the new design of the iPhone edition I really can't wait!
