I have been trying to scan a document to my Mac using the Continuity document scanner on two different iOS devices and while it worked flawlessly with iOS13, it is now broken since I upgraded to iOS 14. I have noticed that as the iOS device takes the photo ok and processes the image but it just terminates at the moment of transferring to the Mac. On my Mac I get a message saying "Could not import from iPhone. The device was disconnected". Using Continuity Camera to take a photo works however. Also, when I scan a document to Notes, it works fine.

The devices I tried were a iPhone7 on iOS 14.0.1 and an iPad Pro 9.7" on iOS 14.0. The Mac is a mid 2015 13" MacBook Pro on Mac OS 10.15.7.

Has anybody else noticed this problem with scanning to a Mac using Continuity since upgrading to iOS 14?

Thanks,

Joe

I had hoped that 14.1 would have brought a fix for this issue but it seems to still persist. Can we confirm that it only exists on older hardware ?

Same here - iPhone 11, iOS14.2, macOS 11.01 - Scan Document > Device was disconnected
