Camera has that after-the-fact ability to adjust depth of field, but don't let this sell you on the camera. With iOS 17, you can do these even with the 14. You just have to be sure you're in Portrait mode when you take the shot. No big deal.

I’m sure some of you know this already, but I’ve been reading. A. Lot. And missed this.

Just learned that portrait mode focus point can be changed after the fact on photos taken in portrait mode with iOS 16+ on iPhone 13 and later.

I thought it was iPhone 15 only. Nice!

It just straight up does not work for me. Tried the 1x and 2x camera. Wait for it to detect a face. Still nothing. This seems to be a non existent feature for me.

Only the iPhone 15 allows you to take a normal photo and change to portrait later.

The iPhones 13 and 14 allow you to take a portrait photo in iOS 16 or 17 and change the focal point after the fact. Not nearly as useful, but still nice to have.

I’m on a 15 Pro Max. 🥴

Mine doesn’t work on any photos either. Even the ones taken in portrait mode, I cannot change the depth of field.
