iOS27 saved my 11 Pro Max !!!!

I had no intention in upgrading from iOS 18, but Apple 'forced' me to upgrade when they stopped allowing security updates on phones capable of upgrading to iOS 26. ( I see that policy has changed now)

I've been frustrated with iOS26 for a few months, it makes my phone slow as molasses, battery life has decreased.

Disappointment all round.

So last night out of frustration I thought I'd install iOS27 dev beta.

WOW!

What an improvement!

The phone is snappy again and a pleasure to use.

26 was an embarrassment in almost every way. 27 is what you expect to see on premium devices.

That’s good to hear. I had the same experience with a 12 mini. It hasn’t fixed the battery life but the speed of the device is noticeable.

Apple didn’t. They are worried about “security” and feel like they have to update to anything and everything for “security” updates.

It is a pointless, never-ending run towards an unattainable goal. The device will never be “secure” because vulnerabilities will always be discovered, so they will kill everything they have via iOS updates in pursuit of an unattainable goal.

Let them do whatever they like, it’s their devices that suffer, not ours.

26 has been an embarrassment in iOS history. Not even iOS 11, which impacted devices updating to their first major version was as bad as iOS 26. Original version devices lost in battery life vs the best devices of iOS 18, and performance had its low points even on the original devices for 26.

By these metrics, it’s the worst version ever released.

I like that analogy. It’s as if brushing your teeth perpetually damaged them, but you do it because it’s the only way to kill a specific bacteria that remains dormant and whose chances of attacking you are practically non-existent.

Hows 27 in its current form running for you all on a 15 pro max? Im thinking about putting a new battery in mine and skipping the 18 since my 15 PM is working well. Battery is getting long in the tooth though.

Does iOS 27 look the exact same on the iPhone 11 Pro as it does on a new iPhone?

I remember the specular highlights were pretty bad on iOS 26 for older iPhones among other visual inconsistencies.

I’m wondering the same thing as the person two replies above me. 16 pro max. don’t know if I’m going to 18 pro max but my battery isn’t fantastic despite having 92% BH. I feel it’s largely because of iOS 26. Is iOS 27 better??
