ios4 GM upgrade to official ios4 ?

Will iTunes know that the official release is newer than the gold master release? I assume its not out yet as iTunes keeps saying "4.0 is the latest release"

So what will happen when its out?
 
o well 2 or so hours and we will find out... i dont want to have to go back to 3.1.3 then plug into iTunes.. who knows

I would assume this wouldn't be true as ibooks is an optional download with the ipad as it is not included in the iOS software.

If it was true, then ibooks would have been included with the GM.

It's the same build number.
 
It's a separate app on the appstore. Just search for it when it's released and downlaod it like any other app. It will be free
 
If you have the GM seed and want to go to the official release, I did a DFU restore and it downloaded the software and worked fine for me.
 
If you can't upgrade it, obviously there isn't much difference.

For those who have the iOS4 GM, you shouldn't really care anyways since you use that phone for development.
 
You cant upgrade to the same exact firmware.
You can restore it but it wont make a different.
Thats what a GM is. The final release.....
 
I had the GM release, then I restored, and GameCenter was gone. Did Apple take it out? I also updated my mom's iPhone (who didn't have the gm release) and it didn't have GC.

Game center was only available to developers which is why it was in the GM. It will be released later this year officially. You can always go back and use the GM if GC is a must have. I will personally never use GC.

That actually makes a lot more sense xD thanks. but yeah, it was really pretty useless for now, just wondering. ^_^
 
yea, GC is just taking up another real estate since we all cant use it yet. i just want to know if anyone with a 3gs that had the GM updated to the official, noticed anything different? better battery?

do i need to waste my time updating to the offical?
