Hey guys i know they said 'fall' or November but are there any rumours on beginning middle or end of the month ?

thanks for any help

also are the betas ok for use on wifi ipads ? might try get it going but dont want to loose functionality for it

I'm wondering if it'll be out next week as we haven't had a new beta this week (yet)

I haven't noticed any problems with the latest beta on my 3G iPad personally.

thanks i hope its that soon, do you still HAVE to have a UDID to get the beta running ?

You can install it via the shift/alt/cmd update method without having udid registered but you cant restore to it without udid registered.

So if it fails to install via update for some reason and you need to restore, you can only restore to 3.2.2. Ive only ever had a failed update from when I nudged the USB cable and it disconnected.

As long as you run a backup before trying to update you have nothing to lose!

cool ill try it, when legit ios4 release comes out ill be able to upgrade from it to final version right ?

i've been hearing actually in a week. historically apple releases the full update 1-2 weeks after beta 4 (which was put out a few days ago)

According to the release dates of B1-3, Beta 4 should have been out yesterday but it wasn't released. Don't know if that means we will see the real thing coming in 2 weeks/next week.

yeah, i got ios4 now off download, seems ok i dont like the orientation lock change, other stuff isnt so ground breaking since its been on my ip4 for months but i guess its a nice addition

Normally, when I see any announcement where the release date is just a given month, it's likely to be the end of it.

So, despite the discussion between beta 2 and 3... When will it be released?

yup. beta 3 is very stable

Beta 3 is stable and better than previous ones however it isn't perfect. iOS4 on my iPod Touch 4G runs extremely smooth without no lag where as in beta 3 I do see lag while closing apps or opening them (they would close very quickly sometimes rather than fading in like most times or the screen would flicker). Also, on beta 3, for me at least, the battery life literally sucks... I drain (while using the iPad) an average of 1% even 2-3 minutes. I really hope they release beta 4 or the final one but fix all these issues in it.

Didn't say it wasn't stable, they're all stable. Just more app problems with beta 3 I experienced. And few more crashes. 2, IMO, seemed perfect.

Update iPad on other than your own pc

Is it possible to update to iOS 4 on a pc different than the one your songs are usually on without losing all files/apps etc? If you have automatically sync off of course. Can you restore to backup or something ?

I believe that just like when iPhones went from 3.0 to 4.0. All media (apps/music etc) must be erased
