My wife is new to iPhone and we use the same computer to sync our iPhones. My understanding is that I should allow her to use my Apple login so she can sync the same apps I have already purchased instead of buying them again.

With that said, how will AutoUpdate impact this process. Is it linked to the Apple ID? If so, does that mean if she puts particular music on her phone the same music will then be synced to mine? Like wise with apps? Or is there some way to define boundaries between her phone and mine while using the same purchased apps and music without buying them a 2nd time?

    Thanks!

If you goto Settings>Store, you have the option to automatically download new purchases made on another device with the same Apple ID.

Yes, there is a boundary. It's called using a different Apple ID. I don't see why you and her would use the same Apple ID when you can already share purchased apps and stuff between each other using Home Sharing even if you have different Apple IDs.

...mostly because I wasn't aware of the capability. I will look into it.
